Distribution Centre Operative

Purpose: Handling of goods from receipt to dispatch in a time sensitive and orderly manner always ensuring the integrity of our products.

Location: Poole Site, BH12

Salary: £29,640 (includes shift premium £4,940)

Working Hours: 42.5 hours per week Monday to Friday

We operate on a swing shift pattern from 6:00am to 3:00pm and then 3:00pm to 12:00am on a week on, week off basis.

Reporting to: BH1 Operations & Distribution Manager

 Duties & Responsibilities:

• Ensure timely and accurate receipt of all items into the Distribution Centre reporting discrepancies as required
• Process all items correctly and escalate problems to the Distribution Centre Shift Team Leader or Distribution Operations Manager as appropriate
• Maintain stock integrity through appropriate manual or automated methods
• Support shift team colleagues with training on current operational methods as required
• Complete timely and accurate picking and replenishment of all stock lines as required
• Maintain productivity in line with current operational needs
• Achieve and maintain all company Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) as notified by the Distribution Centre Shift Team Leader or Distribution Operations Manager as appropriate
• Maintain a high level of housekeeping within the Distribution Centre and surrounding area
• Ensure all paperwork is completed, checked, and passed to relevant departments in a timely manner for action
• Adhere to all statutory and company Health & Safety requirements, effectively communicating any concerns as appropriate and ensuring safe systems of work are always observed
• Ensure that Mechanical Handling Equipment is inspected as per company procedure and defects are reported immediately
• Any other duties as per the needs of the business

Secondary Responsibilities

• To assist in other departments as required
• Complete stock checks as requested
• Maintain open lines of communication as appropriate
• Comply with the company Environmental Policy

Experience & Essential Qualities

• Experience of working in “next day” distribution / warehousing operations
• Target driven with the motivation to succeed
• Good communicator through all mediums
• Can do attitude
• Familiar with use of Computer Software
• Able to work under pressure to tight deadlines
• Flexibility
• Team player
