In the latest blow to Vauxhall Zafira owners across the UK the model has been recalled for the second time over an engine problem which has caused a number of Zafiras to burst into flames.
Vauxhall has been forced to announce a second wave of recalls to resolve issues created following improper repairs of the heater motor resistor – the part to blame for the fire incidents. In spite of the first recall 14 Zafiras subsequently caught fire after the issue was thought to have been resolved.
In total 234,938 Zafiras are affected by the recalls and owners will begin to receive letters in August.
Zafiras first began achieving nationwide notoriety in 2015 as reports began circulating of incidents of random fires occurring whilst being driven and also when on driveways up and down the country.
In total Vauxhall announced that 266 Zafira B fires have been reported and 144,000 vehicles repaired to date, prior to the announcement of the latest recall.
Vauxhall has also urged every Zafira owner who has not yet responded to the first recall to do so at the earliest available opportunity.
