The Most Unreliable New Car For 2019 Has Been Revealed - Do You Own One?
Unreliable Car

A recent survey has revealed the UK’s most unreliable car following research involving almost 44,000 drivers.

Breaking down and racking up repair bills is the stuff of nightmares for motorists and understandably so. Cars are becoming more complex and technologically advanced than ever before. Therefore, reliability is key when it comes to comparing models when purchasing a new car. Making an informed decision can minimise the risk of costly repairs should something go wrong.

The Which? survey found breakdowns and regular trips to the garage an all-too-common occurrence for owners of 2019’s most unreliable car.

The survey discovered 42% of owners of the least reliable new car (aged 0-3 years) had to visit a garage within the year prior to being surveyed. A further 11% broke down.

Without further ado here is the least reliable new car for 2019 (drum roll please).

Land Rover Range Rover Sport (2013 - present)

When it comes to reliability, you can’t do much worse than the Range Rover Sport. It came out bottom of the reliability table scoring just one star out of five on the reliability scale.

Of the 42% of owners who had to make a trip to the garage the range of issues reported was exhaustive. Software and infotainment issues were most prevalent with owners reporting issues with the built-in sat nav, connectivity, dashboard displays and on-board computer software. Issues also arose with the suspension and parking technology.

Owners of Land Rover’s stablemate the Discovery Sport and Land Rover models in general also fared poorly. The Discovery Sport was the second least reliable new car that you could purchase in 2019.

Land Rover capped off a poor showing by earning the unenviable title of the least reliable car brand for the second year running. It was the only manufacturer to score the lowest mark for both its new and older cars.
