If you haven’t updated Google Maps yet, do it! The latest Google Maps update sees the introduction of the long-awaited speed camera warning system. This now means that when using the app you’ll be notified of speed camera locations on your journey, as well as the speed limit for the roads you are travelling on.

The app will display the speed limit in the bottom corner of your phone. It will also provide audio warnings to inform you of an upcoming speed camera and when you enter an updated speed limit zone.

The app will provide speed camera locations on your map, as well as provide locations of recent accidents to help limit the likelihood that you end up sat in traffic.

This functionality has been commonplace on traditional sat navs such as Garmins and TomTom devices for years. However, the popularity of these has waned as consumers opt for Google Maps and the latest big player – Waze.
