Charles Trent Limited is excited to announce the introduction of our new Apprenticeship Programme

Charles Trent is excited to announce the introduction of our new Apprenticeship Development Programme. Beginning in October this year, the programme has been introduced to give people of all ages the opportunity to gain a relevant qualification in Automotive Recycling while gaining on-the-job experience.

The programme will see five apprentices undertake the Metal Recycling General Operative standard, specialising in End-of-Life Vehicles. This will be provided by Bournemouth and Poole College and will be the first college-based apprenticeship of this type in the country. This is the start of an exciting partnership between Charles Trent and Bournemouth and Poole college that will not only benefit us but also the local community.

Apprentices will rotate around the business, gaining experience in a variety of roles, including; vehicle dismantling, quality services and depollution of end-of-life vehicles. During their twelve-month apprenticeship, each student will have a tailored development plan.  This will identify the skills and knowledge we wish them to learn in each area. They will be supported throughout the process by an assigned mentor as well as their line manager and the wider Charles Trent family.

We hope the programme on offer is varied and engaging for the students. It will allow them to gain valuable insights into our processes and acquire a range of skills. On successful completion of the programme, we envisage the apprentices transitioning easily into full-time employment and continuing their career progression at Charles Trent for many years to come.

Here at Charles Trent, we’re striving to increase our corporate social responsibility. We already recycle/resell 96% of our cars, use solar energy to power most of our operations and use 100% recyclable packaging for our green parts. The Apprenticeship Development Programme forms an integral part of this aim. Being part of our commitment to staff development and desire to invest in our employee’s future.

It’s never been a better time to join Charles Trent with huge growth anticipated over the next five years and many exciting employee benefits on offer.
