Charles Trent Limited (Trents), one of the leading auto-recyclers in the UK with almost 100 years of experience in the industry, has ambitions to revolutionise the way vehicles are recycled in the UK. From using technology and bespoke software to streamline processes and improve efficiency, to having the best team, to building innovative new facilities and production facilities in which to process vehicles, significant investment is being made to reach these ambitions.
To help deliver its strategic goals and objectives, Trents has appointed a Change Programme Manager. Richard Smith joins the business with extensive experience in programme and project delivery, and business transformation. This new role has been created to champion many fantastic change projects the business is currently undergoing or has planned. His immediate focus is to complete the delivery of three existing strategic initiatives over the next three months before creating a programme to manage and deliver the company’s key objectives.
Smith says “I’m excited to have joined Trents at such a critical time in their history. I love the ambition in the business to be the best in the market, and can immediately see how much Trents are doing to set themselves apart from all other auto-recyclers in the UK. It’s not just talk, there is already so much work going on in the business to make this happen – I’m going to be very busy! Clearly significant investment is being made and I look forward to playing my part and helping to take Trents to the next level.”
Innovation and continual improvement has always been at the heart of Trents’ ethos and is what has enabled it to become one of the largest processors of salvage and end-of-life vehicles in the UK, with sales to over 100,000 customers each year including many body shops and repairers in the insurance and fleet supply chain. The introduction of this new role is part of a 5-year strategic plan which will see significant growth and introduction of new sites around the UK.
Neil Joslin, Trents’ COO, comments on the appointment “I’m delighted to welcome Richard to the business at such an important time for us. We have a clear vision which will redefine how salvage and end of life vehicles are processed in the UK, we are part way to delivering on that vision already but there is much to do and Richard with his skills and expertise will help keep us on track. As with any transformation project, it’s essential we remain laser-focused on our objectives so that we can offer more products and bring better solutions to our customers.”
Trents is a proud member of both e2e and the VRA.
